Arm balances and inversions bring levity and freedom of movement to our yoga and movement practice. Join Reno Gorman of The Handstand Nation for this 3-week mini series focusing on fun yet challenging poses. Reno will break down techniques for arm balances such as Tittibhasana (Firefly), Eka Pada Bakasana (One-legged Crow), Mayurasana (Peacock) and more. Headstands, Handstands, and Scorpion inversions will also be practiced, with detailed alignment for safety and efficiency. Learn exercises and drills to strengthen and stretch the body to make these poses float and flow together. Core work and cool down stretching will be incorporated as well. Expect a workout!
While this is an all levels class, some yoga experience or similar physical practice is recommended. Beignners will get foundational training for their inversion and arm balance poses, while more experienced practitioners will get fine-tuning tips on their technique and advanced variations of poses. Reno has a few Feet-Up inversion props to help students get upside down, especially those with wrist, shoulder, or neck restrictions.
