Learn the FUNdamentals of AcroYoga with Reno and Sheri! All levels welcome, no experience or partner necessary.
AcroYoga is a blend of partner yoga and acrobatics. It's an incredibly fun movement practice that takes your yoga to new heights. You'll learn fundamental techniques and poses in this workshop so you can safely and effectively base and/or fly. You'll develop strength, flexibility, and balance through this practice, and have a lot of fun while doing it. The gravity defying moves may look intimidating or impossible, but are a lot more doable than you might think.
No experience necessary - any yoga, dance, or gymnastic experience is helpful though.
No need to come with a partner - we work in groups of 3 or 4, so that there is always at least one safety spotter. And, this gives you a chance to rotate out to try another role or to take a break as needed.
No need to bring a mat, Reno will bring padded mats that work better for AcroYoga than yoga mats.
Reno has been teaching AcroYoga for over a decade, and teaches across the country at conventions and festivals. He is a certified AcroLove instructor and also a ERYT-200 yoga instructor with over 20 years experience practicing yoga. He is co-founder of The Handstand Nation and performs with Aries Moon Circus. He teaches a weekly AcroYoga class on Mondays from 6:30-8:30pm

This is an all levels type workshop. Great for beginners who have never done a headstand to receive foundational cues and techniques, while more experienced practitioners will get refinement cues and next level variations to practice. Props and the wall will be used to progress safely and effectively.
Getting upside down doesn't have to be hard or dangerous. And there are many benefits to incorporating inversions into your practice, from fighting depression to a healthier immune system.
Good alignment, technique, and safety are Reno's top priorities when teaching inversions like headstand, scorpion, shoulderstand, and more. Using props, the wall, and even other yogis opens up a plethora of upside down options. This workshop is suitable for beginners to experienced practitioners.

Arm balances require more than just strength - a little bit of technique goes a long way. Over the past 20 years I’ve learned and found various drills and progressions that specifically help train these poses.
Whether you just barely able to lift up into poses like Crow, or you can balance on off your feet a handful of ways, I guarantee you I can show you how to lift up into new poses and train in a way that allows you to develop your practice quicker and farther. Hands down this is the best way to learn/practice arm balancing in the Sacramento area.

Content: AcroLove Training Intensive is a yearly progressive series that covers many styles of Acro.
We will have “office hours” dedicated to your specific goals, In addition to leveling up your overall acro practice in group.
Class focus will be geared toward requests from application.
Sessions in Pops, Whips, Standing, Group Builds, Sports Acro Skills, Flow Creation, Solo Skills/ Handstands and more. Please list your requests in application so we can bring in the best coaches and content to support you in these goals.
Why: We formed these Immersion to support folks interested in applying to advanced trainings like Teacher Training, Pitch Catch and other Deep Trainings that have shared their wishes for incoming students and their prerequisites. Along with the pre-req requests from festivals for Int/Advanced classes and intensives.
Coaches: Each intensive we bring a team of lead AcroLove coaches with various specialties coming to share their unique style along with the AcroLove Immersion content to provide a well rounded training worth the investment!
Location: Reno, Nevada has many accessible flights out of the international airport and great deals on housing including hotels located close to the facility. Acro Enso is located close to downtown with many options for food, entertainment and housing. Many of us plan on staying at The Element, a fun hotel with huge hot tub for after session hang time. Once application is filled we invite you to join the group housing page for local hosting or to match up a reservation at the hotel. Either way come join us for dinners and hot tub hang time at the group hotel.
Pre-requisites: This is an intermediate to advanced Immersion. Although we will have additional coaches to split level if necessary. Teacher training is about so much more than getting a certificate to teach. It’s about connection, perspective, learning, and diving deeper into the practice. Our goal is to be your trusted guides and help bring out the best in you.
You will learn everything about becoming a great teacher. This includes creating intuitive progressions, structuring your classes, building community, business development, social media outreach, and event planning. There will be lectures, discussions, outings, practice teaching, adventures in Lake Tahoe, and a whole lot of acro. You will develop new friendships and bonds with your fellow classmates, teachers, and the greater AcroLove community.
During the training, we will be hosting a skill-share event to practice facilitating and teaching a mini festival.

FireDrums is a workshop retreat focused on bringing fire arts and drumming communities together to share knowledge and help introduce those interested in perusing these arts and is open to everyone at any skill level. Whether you're learning, teaching, sharing, inspiring, or being inspired, we welcome everyone interested in participating. You can often learn as much and enjoy just as much pleasure from teaching as you can from being taught.
There will be organized and interactive workshops in the various disciplines of the fire and flow arts and drumming throughout the gathering so please contact workshops@firedrums.org if you would like to lead a class.

CAR PASSES, PARKING AND CAMPING UPDATES-
Car camping is first come, first served.
If you are differently abled or feel there are outside circumstances that require car camping please reach out to info@firedrums.org for approval.
Car camping will be in the area known as the Dry Bed and a single camp may not be larger than 10x10. If larger camps want to gain approval for car camping please reach out to info@firedrums.org
Once the Dry Bed is full to the extent that any more campers would block necessary fire exits, then car must be parked in the General Parking Area.
The General Parking Area only includes space for a car. You may sleep in your car if desired but cannot camp next to it.
There are a limited number of car passes based on the amount last year. We have decided a capacity limit and based the amount of passes on this.
You may still attend without a car pass but will be unable to park. There are not nearby lots and parking on the local roads could get you towed. You will have to car pool or otherwise be dropped off at the event site.
We will be starting ride share group page as the event date nears in support of this.
